ZIRAPAYON launches Masvingo Chapter

by Bruce Zvandasara

The Zimbabwe Revolution and Patriotic Youth Network (ZIRAPAYON) recently launched its Masvingo Provincial chapter.

Zanu PF National Youth Secretary, Pupurai Togarepi presided over the launch.

ZIRAPAYON leader, John Chikerema, son to the late nationalist, James Chikerema expressed his gratefulness to Cde Togarepi for finally accepting them as an affiliate of the revolutionary party. He narrated their long journey during the previous political administration where their efforts were in vain because of factionalism.

Chikerema revealed that they would unveil their district structures in the near future.

Addressing ZIRAPAYON members, Chikerema   blasted former Zanu PF Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere for ignoring their call. However, Chikerema added that their organisation was in tandem with the Zanu PF principles and they promised to support the new dispensation and President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Cde Togarepi applauded ZIRAPAYON for their patience and support they promised to add to the Youth League. He urged the association to shun violence in their endeavour during their mobilisation programmes.

The Youth association was formed in 2009 and has been making frantic efforts to be attested into as the Youth League associate but their efforts were in vain due to a strained relationship between former President Robert Mugabe and John’s late father. It is believed that the former President was still holding on to their differences during the liberation war.
