Southern Africa Human Rights Watch Director, Dewa Mavhinga, has been roundly bashed over his lies that hundreds of Zimbabwe National Army soldiers were undergoing a three week training programme at 1 Commando Barracks in Harare for further redeployment in Police uniforms.
In the early hours of Thursday, Mavhinga tweeted, “100s of Zimbabwe soldiers reportedly undergoing 3 weeks training at 1 Commando in Harare 4 (for) redeployment in police uniforms! What is happening @PoliceZimbabwe.”
His tweet was quickly dismissed as hogwash.
MDC member and UK based Zimbabwean Economist, Brighton Musonza explained to Mavhinga that One Commando Barracks does not have military training facilities urging him to probe his or her source on the accuracy of information.
Musonza said, “But Dewa Mavhinga; One Commando Baracks in Harare has no military training facilities. It is not a base military training camp.”
He added: “You need to probe more your source on the accuracy of this information. There are football pitches at Commando One and drill parade facilities.”
Another citizen, Tinashe Shamuyashe quipped, “Training dzema masoja ungadzipedza here nhai Dewa? You cannot be coming up with a conspiracy theory every time you hear about military training.”
