Government through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is in the process of building schools across the country in fulfilment of its mandate of improving the education sector, a Government official has said.

Speaking to Harare Post today, the official who preferred anonymity revealed that the Government was finalising the completion of about 17 schools across the country.

“The Government embarked in the construction of schools across the country and at the moment 17 schools are almost complete. Launching of the schools under construction will soon be announced to the public.

“In some Cyclone Idai hit areas, we have since opened up new temporary schools as construction of permanent structures are under way,” he said.

Speaking on the new curriculum, the official said that it was there to help children and students to be innovative and that it was an area that needed to be continuously talked about for people to understand on how it contributes to vision 2030.

Government through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is working on fulfilling its promise of building more schools considering that the country needs about 2056 new schools for education to be accessible to everyone, as well as 66 laboratories which will be added to the already existing schools without the facilities.
