Citizens have come out castigating power hungry MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa for taking over MDC T leader, Thokozani Khupe’s post.
One Tafadzwa Marere tweeted accusing Chamisa of getting the leadership post through the back door.
“Had Nelson Chamisa followed his constitutional requirements, we would not be discussing this. He came through the back door figuratively and through the window, literary. Many advised him to do the right thing and he ignored that advice,” he said.
Matigari tweeted a thread he titled ‘Some political wisdom,’ where he described how illegitimate Chamisa (Wamba) is and that Khupe is the official MDC T leader
“Some political wisdom. He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day. Last year, Wamba sued Khupe over the MDC logo. Thabani Mpofu and Lovemore Madhuku representing Wamba and Khupe consented to this judgment
“Because MDC Alliance is a Coalition, not a political party, all appointments by Chamisa of persons who are not MDC members are illegal. They include, Jacob Mafume (PDP), Tendai Biti (PDP), David Coltart (MDC), Welshman Ncube (MDC N) among others. So whatever they plan to do is unlawful and contemptuous. They are building a house on quicksand, simple,” he said.
Matigari went on to give out ways through which Chamisa can fix the pending problems like respecting the rule of law.
“How can this be fixed, Wamba must just respect the court rulings. He is an officer of the court. That’s the rule of law and respect the MDC constitution. That’s constitutionalism. If he doesn’t, he is simply building a monster of illegality.
Matigari highlighted how Chamisa’s so called followers and lieutenants are giving him false hope.
“But what do I see so far? All I see is that Wamba has an uncanny propensity to shoot himself in the foot and the people urging him on don’t want to take the gun from him. They keep giving him bullets while laughing behind his back. It’s most unfortunate,” he said.
Build Zimbabwe tweeted saying that Chamisa will not want to leave the MDC name because it holds a bit of weight.
“My thoughts are that Nelson Chamisa will lose the case and left with no option but form another party which is difficult to leave the name MDC. At the end, Douglas Mwonzora, Thokozani Khupe and Elias Mudzuri will continue with MDC. Some big guys are waiting to see wat happens while pretending to love Chamisa. The split is imminent, my thoughts,” he said
Matigari junior tweeted saying accusing Chamisa of refusing to let Khupe lead because she is a woman and of the Ndebele tribe.
“Advocate Matinenga advised MDC to allow Thokozani Khupe to take over, go for an extra ordinary congress after Save’s (Tsvangirai0 death but Chamisa refused because Khupe is Ndebele and a woman and he knew the existing structures made him lose the Secretary General post to Douglas Mwonzora, so the loss was imminent,” he said.
