MDC members fed up with Chamisa’s false promises

Although most MDC youths are very zealous about the party and its leader, Nelson Chamisa, some are getting frustrated with his promises. This was revealed in responses to a post which Chamisa made on his micro-blogging site, twitter today.

“History books being written as we plant new memorials,” Chamisa tweeted basing on the biblical book of Exodus Chapter 17 verses 8 to 13 which records Moses and the Israelites’ defeat of the Amalekites. A number of MDC members responded positively to Chamisa’s message while others used the opportunity to point out to the opposition leaders that he had made unfulfilled promises for too long.

“Good Morning Mr Chamisa. I have noticed (that) you like to create hope, whip up emotions and defer a lot to religious mode. But you don't really back all that up with real traction,” twitted Jack Blasky in response.

In a tweet which indicated that some MDC members readily believed hook, line and sinker Chamisa’s lies that he would intervene on behalf of the criminals who were convicted for their role in the 14 to 16 January violent and destructive riots which rocked Zimbabwe, one member, Alexander Gore sought to know how Chamisa would deal with the cases of convicted criminals.

“My President, I have quick one: vakasungwa vakapiwa mutongo (those who were arrested, tried and convicted) what’s going to happen (to them)? (I’m) asking for my father,” posted Gore.

Chamisa assured Gore that the party would appeal and seek a political solution to the matter but former MDC Nyanga-Mutasa Senator, Patrick Chitaka exposed the fact that Chamisa was taking party members up a garden path.

“Not a single appeal has been lodged (with the courts). Please don't give people false hope. Those criminals will rot in jail unless they get Presidential pardon. (That is) EDs pardon!” responded Chitaka.
