Citizens have negatively responded to MDC leader Nelson Chamisa`s tweet where he was urging people not from his party to observe moral values and that the right to demonstrate should be highly respected.
Citizens argued that the opposition party under the leadership of Chamisa is currently the most violent party with a lot of elements with loose morals.
Chamisa on his twitter page posted, “We must repair our value system and moral fibre, to value human life. We need morals revolution and values reset. Our laws must not be abused. Why should a right to demonstrate be followed by flowing rivers of blood and tears? We cannot claim to love God without loving his people.”
He further tweeted, “We continue to mourn our lost relatives and empathise with the wounded and displaced fellow citizens. Our solution to the crisis requires sincerity, honesty and compassion for those we lead. It is not about lofty words or wordplay unsupported by conduct on the ground.”
Tendai Chimusoro responded, “Mr Chamisa, you are just a hypocrite who preaches peace during the day and send your thugs to destroy and vandalise ordinary people`s houses and small business during the night, all in the name of peaceful demonstrations. Chamisa you are not a true pastor.”
Another cyber troll, Munyaradzi Mzekwa tweeted, “Value reset and value revolution begins with respecting fellow human's properties, respecting other people's choice of not demonstrating, respecting the rule of law such as the Concourt verdict on elections dispute and respecting the will of the people like in an election.”
Prior to 2018 harmonised election, Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP), an organisation founded in 2000 by church-based and human rights organisations with the objective of monitoring, documenting and building peace and promoting the peaceful resolution of disputes and conflicts, concluded that the MDC had become the most violent political party. Most reported violent cases were intraparty.
Chamisa`s Vanguard team menaced opponents within the opposition party and physically attacked those seen as a threat to their leader. The attempted murder of former MDC Vice President Dr Thokozani Khupe at the funeral of Morgan Tsvangirai gave the green light to others within the movement to attack those they disagreed with.
These clearly shows that Chamisa can never be a good leader he cannot control his supporters who have become rogue, because he thinks in the same way.
