The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company through its subsidiary, the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has connected 174 rural institutions between January 1 and 31 December 2018.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Information and Publicity celebrating the greatest stride taken by REA in connecting various rural schools, clinics and Chiefs’ homestead to Electricity.
REA electrified 17 institutions in Manicaland, Mashonaland Central 19, Mash East 27, Mash West 18, Masvingo 22, Mat North 19, Mat South 15 and Midlands 37.
Various voices have applauded REA for their work as it concurs and corroborates with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision to make Zimbabwe a middle income economy by 2030 and modernising societies.
