Zimbabwe deserves more business people like Strive Masiyiwa, who are genuine and hardworking despite negative sentiments from spiteful individuals like Professor Jonathan Moyo who try to discredit progressive people.
Recently on his Twitter handle, Professor Moyo has been busy as usual writing and posting spiteful messages intended to discredit Masiyiwa’s efforts as an established business man.
“As a bond note billionaire, Strive Masiyiwa fancies himself as a big fish. But he is in a small pond. Hard currency millionaires in bigger ponds with lots of big fish do not behave like him. It is time the other founders of Econet got the justice they have been long denied,” said Prof Moyo.
Responding to Professor Moyo’s tweets on tweeter, people have given a shared opinion that the Professor is now out of his lane.
Bla B @bmusonza said, “Moyo, many who went to Business School and researched on Econet and can read a balance sheet can tell you Econet Zimbabwe is only 20 percent of Econet Group. You sound like a petulant child to even suggest its founder is a Bond Note billionaire. You have always been overrated. Grow up.”
James Hall on his Twitter handle went on to congratulate Masiyiwa for being awarded a US$180 million investment from a UK development finance agency CDC Group.
“Congratulations Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa. His South African Company Liquid Telecom wins US$180million investment from UK development finance agency CDC Group to expand its high-speed broadband connectivity to some of Africa’s most under-served communities,” said Hall.
Charity Maodza on her twitter handle also said no amount of jealousy will discourage Masiyiwa.
“No amount of spite or jealousy from the likes of hate-filled old madhala like Jonathan Moyo will stop the illustrious son of Zimbabwe Strive Masiyiwa from shining. Congratulations Strive. While your haters are holed in the middle of nowhere, you continue to raise our flag high,” she said.
