Local authorities from Mashonaland West Province have been urged to shun corruption, deliver and have their work plans ready for implementation.
Addressing delegates at an induction workshop of urban and rural authorities from Mash West Province in Kadoma on Monday, Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province Mary Mliswa challenged local authorities to have a developmental outlook as the success of the vision of transforming Zimbabwe into a middle income economy by 2030 hinges on the implementation of their strategic plan.
“Let us all have a developmental outlook, we must be motivated to deliver. To that end, our strategy plans must be in place and ready for funding. They must be reviewed and ready for implementation. Let us give feedbacks to our communities, we have to always be in touch with our communities,” she said.
Minister Mliswa said management should be a benchmark to their officers and be punctual, diligent and meticulous and shun corruption.
“Corruption is the number one enemy in this great country of Zimbabwe. Our policy to corruption is zero tolerance. We must be very honest people, value integrity and transparency. All things should be above board. Government will not hesitate to expose bad apples amongst us should one choose to be corrupt,” she said.
