Over 50 companies are exhibiting their wares and services at the on-going 18th ZANU PF Annual Peoples Conference in Goromonzi. The Conference is running under the theme “Modernize, Mechanise and Grow the Economy towards Vision 2023.” The ZANU PF led government is currently focused on stabilising the economy through engaging private companies and other stakeholders in promoting investment and production for export.

Among the companies participating in the exhibition are Agriseeds, Nissan Zimbabwe, Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, SeedCo, Zimbabwe National Water Authority, Wankie Colliery, Toyota Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company and Telecel among many others.

Representatives of various companies told The Harare Post that their participation at the Conference was a demonstration of their commitment to working with government in resuscitating the economy.

In an interview yesterday, POTRAZ Head of Marketing and International Relations, Sibonginkosi Muteyiwa said POTRAZ was excited to be part of the exhibition at the Conference which brought together people from across the country. “Our mandate as POTRAZ is to ensure that all Zimbabweans across its geographical expanse enjoy world class telecommunication services. As such, we are excited to interact with delegates from throughout the country who are attending the Conference.”

Rural Electrification Agency Public Relations Manager, Johannes Nyamayedenga, said the Agency had to date electrified thousands of rural service centre and institutions such as schools, clinics, Police Stations, irrigation schemes and business centres. The presence of electricity is boosting operations at these centres, citing that clinics in rural areas were now able to refrigerate drugs. He thanked government for financial support in the electrification drive, saying the programme would enhance achievement of various targets under Vision 2030.

President Mnangagwa has outlined his Vision 2030 anchored on efficient and productive private and public companies’ partnerships that focus on employment creation, rehabilitation of public infrastructure, farming and production for export. Government has also embarked on a drive to reform the country’s 92 parastatals with a view to make them efficient and stand alone.
