In line with its vision to be the nerve centre for sustainable, inclusive socioeconomic empowerment, growth and development of SMEs and cooperatives in Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is conducting industrial tours across the country aimed at increasing capacity utilization.
On its tweeter handle, the Ministry said industrial tours were aimed at ensuring that industries that can be improved on capacity utilization are identified.
“The industrial tours which we are conducting as a Ministry are aimed at identifying ways of increasing capacity utilization. Government is willing to assist those in the manufacturing industry to operate normally,” said the Ministry.
Recently, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Raji Modi visited industries in Bindura and Glendale to assess ways of improving their performance.
“In line with the Ministry’s mandate of enhancing the performance of the manufacturing sector, Deputy Minister Modi led the Ministry’s officials on an industrial tour in Bindura at Fertilizer, Seed, Grain (FSG), and Glendale Spinners, in Glendale,” said the Ministry.
Glendale Spinners specializes in spinning of cotton lint into yarn which is a key raw material used in the manufacturing of fabric producing about 9 000 tonnes per year.
