Tshabangu defends recalls, citing deviation from founding principles

Defending his actions on X, Tshabangu said "A lot are questioning why we're doing all this, and the record must be set through, we're trying to uphold the founding principles of the original opposition which was led by our Change Champion-In-Chief, the late Tsvangirai." Tshabangu stated.

Tshabangu emphasised that, the recalls are a means of preserving the core values and principles that defined the MDC and its mission.

Additionally, Tshabangu accused Nelson Chamisa, who took over the leadership following Tsvangirai's death, of deviating from the party's core values that once guided the party.

"We're trying to uphold the founding principles of the original opposition, which was led by our Change Champion-In-Chief, the late Tsvangirai, Nelson Chamisa has already lost toeing that line," said Tshabangu.

Meanwhile, political analyst, Nobleman Runyanga supported Tshabangu's position, asserting that the recalls are a necessary step to reinstate order within that party.

"Tshabangu is indeed right in trying to bring order within that party. Chamisa has only created mayhem and chaos since taking over the party," Runyanga noted.

Runyanga further criticized Chamisa for dismantling the party structures established by Tsvangirai and exhibiting dictatorial tendencies.

"He has managed to derail everything Tsvangirai stood for, starting from having a party without any structures and having dictatorial tendencies," Runyanga remarked.

Meanwhile, as the CCC navigates this internal turmoil, the fate of the party and its leadership hangs in the balance, with Tshabangu defending his actions as a necessary step towards reclaiming the party's original vision.
