Confusion reigns in CCC following MP Recalls

A source close to the matter, spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity, exposing simmering tensions within that party’s ranks which threaten to splinter it into numerous pieces.

"There's a big disagreement in the party," the insider said,

"There’s a clear divide between those seeking dialogue, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, to safeguard members from further recalls and those who staunchly believe in continuing to challenge the ruling party, Zanu-Pf,” the source revealed.

The source further revealed that CCC member Jabulani Nyoni allegedly shared his concerns with interim spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi, on October 10, 2023.

"Nyoni allegedly shared his worries about the recalls with Mkwananzi saying that he was worried about the recalls, he is not the only one. The whole party is uneasy," said the source.

The source also said that CCC leader Nelson Chamisa was thinking of taking legal action.

“Nelson Chamisa is allegedly considering legal avenues, it is said that he is leasing with an undisclosed South African contact to form a legal team to scrutinize the MPs’ recall, this which could lead to a legal face-off with Tshabangu, the instigator of the controversial recalls,” highlighted the source.

The source also added that rumours were circulating within CCC about a potential countermove by Tshabangu, which could include recalling Chamisa.

“If that happens, this would undoubtably worsen the existing turmoil,” the source added.

He further indicated that they were whispers of an internal coup, with some CCC members rumoured to be siding with Tshabangu's group, suggesting they might try to remove Chamisa as party leader.
