In a statement prior to the delivery of the aid, the UAE Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, emphasized theimportance of continued international cooperation.

The UAE is committed to supporting Zimbabwe and its people in these challenging times. Through this donation, we aim to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable communities and contribute to the long-term well-being of the country,” Ambassador Almutaiwee said.

The donation includes food aid and essential supplies, such as rice, flour, and other non-perishable goods, which will be distributed to various parts of Zimbabwe, particularly areas hardest hit by food insecurity. The UAE has long been known for its humanitarian efforts and commitment to assisting nations in need, and this donation is a reflection of the strong bilateral relations between Zimbabwe and the UAE.

In a statement prior to the donation, Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Hon. Daniel Garwe, also expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support, emphasizing the importance of international partnerships in alleviating Zimbabwe’s current challenges.

“This timely donation will significantly assist in our efforts to provide basic needs to affected communities across Zimbabwe. The UAE’s generosity demonstrates the strength of our partnership, and we are deeply grateful for this support in our time of need,” Minister Garwe said.

The distribution of the aid will be managed by the Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare, in collaboration with local authorities and humanitarian organizations. The food and supplies will be directed to areas most affected by the ongoing economic crisis, including rural communities and urban areas where unemployment and poverty rates are particularly high.

In addition to the immediate relief efforts, the UAE’s donation is expected to pave the way for further cooperation between Zimbabwe and the UAE in the fields of development, healthcare, and education. Both governments have expressed a shared commitment to building stronger ties and fostering lasting partnerships for the betterment of their people.
