Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka, Zimbabwe's Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development, has been named the Best Minister in the World at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development announced the recognition on their official social media page, congratulating Dr. Masuka.
"We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Minister Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka on being recognised as the Best Minister at the prestigious World Government Summit," the Ministry posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The award was presented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
The World Government Summit celebrates excellence in governance through five awards, including The Best Minister in the World, Innovative Government Solutions Award, Global Best Government Applications Award, Global Government Excellence Award, and the Best Teacher in the World Award.
Dr. Masuka received the Best Minister accolade for his innovative and scalable initiatives that have significantly impacted Zimbabwe’s agricultural and rural development sectors. These initiatives have inspired government officials and service providers to enhance their services to citizens.
"This esteemed award celebrates leaders who champion innovative and scalable initiatives that inspire government officials and service providers to enhance their service to citizens," the Ministry stated in their post.
The World Government Summit, which gathers global leaders annually, recognised Dr. Masuka for his outstanding leadership and contributions to Zimbabwe's agricultural development, water resources management, and rural development.
