The construction of the new Musami Registry sub-office, a project that has been underway for four months, is nearing completion.

This was said by Murewa West legislator Farai Jere during a recent interview with the Harare Post.

Honourable Jere stated that the building is expected to be completed by October this year.

"We have currently invited bids for roofing, electrical tubing, and plumbing. Once this process is complete, nothing will stop us from finishing the project within a few months," Jere told the Harare Post.

The Musami Registry sub-office is expected to serve the entire Murewa West Constituency.

Honourable Jere said that once completed, the new office would be equipped with state-of-the-art IT gadgets.

"Everything at the office will be computerized up to the collection system. This is a more efficient and watertight processing system that minimizes loopholes that can cause corruption," Jere explained.

Located at Chitopi Hall in Murewa West, the construction of the building began in March this year and is on track to be finalized this year.

Headman Chakawarika, a resident of Murehwa West constituency, applauded the project and expressed hope that the new registry office will significantly benefit those who previously had to travel long distances for vital national registration documents.

"The new complex has been a fifteen-year dream project for Murehwa West and should have started in 2016. This new office will be a tremendous relief for our community, as it will save time and resources for many who need essential documents," Headman Chakawarika stated.

Headman Chakawarika expressed the community's eagerness for the building to become operational as soon as possible.

"We want the building to operate as soon as possible, even next month. For many years, our people had to travel to Makombe in Harare for passports,” he said.

The establishment of Musami Registry sub-office is likely to attract CBZ Bank to set up an in-house bank at the office, making the process of applying and paying for services more convenient and secure for applicants.

Meanwhile, the completion of the Musami Registry sub-office will mark a significant milestone in improving access to essential civil registration services for the residents of Murewa West.
