Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Dr Apollonia Munzverengwi yesterday commissioned two new blocks at Mapukutu Secondary School, marking a significant advancement in educational infrastructure within the Murewa district.

During the ceremony, Dr. Munzverengwi lauded the Government's steadfast commitment to delivering quality education nationwide, emphasizing the importance of accessible learning environments.

"Today we plant the seeds of knowledge and possibility in the fertile soil of Murewa district. These schools will be the wellsprings from which the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers will emerge," she stated.

The Minister further celebrated the strides made under President Mnangagwa's leadership, affirming, "The Second Republic is walking the talk, ensuring that no community is left behind in our national development agenda."

The commissioning was also a showcase of the pivotal role of devolution funds, which Dr Munzverengwi noted were crucial in upgrading community facilities and services.

"Devolution funds are playing a crucial role in supporting and upgrading our communities, ensuring that development reaches every corner of our nation. Today, we are witnessing a testament to how these funds have assisted local authorities across the country in fulfilling their obligation to ensure access to social amenities," she added.

Mapukutu Secondary School Development Association committee member, Tinashe Mudzimba, expressed his gratitude towards the Government for its financial support.

"Indeed, this momentous occasion has etched itself into the annals of the district's history, a testament to the Government's unwavering commitment to bridging the educational divide and ensuring that no child is left behind, regardless of their geographic location," he remarked.

The newly inaugurated blocks at Mapukutu Secondary School stand as a symbol of progress and hope, demonstrating the potential for substantial improvements in rural education through Government initiative and community cooperation.

As Zimbabwe continues to invest in capacity building, resource allocation, and policy reforms, such efforts are integral to achieving President Mnangagwa's Vision 2030, aimed at empowering local communities and enhancing service delivery across the nation.
