Recalled CCC members resort to violence

The recent wave of recalls of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators and councillors orchestrated by that party’s Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu, has resulted in the recalled members resorting to violence to resolve political disputes.

A source who spoke to this publication said that recalled Mabvuku Tafara legislator, Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi and his accomplices, who remain unidentified, recently targeted a vehicle belonging to Pastors in Action 4ED. The vehicle was part of the campaign fleet for ZANU PF incoming legislator, Pedzisayi Scott Sakupwanya in the recent December 9 by-elections.

The same  source further revealed how, Kufahakutizwi's violent outburst was fueled by a deep-seated resentment stemming from the loss of his parliamentary seat due to recalls orchestrated by Tshabangu. The sudden and unexpected loss of political influence  according to the source appears to have taken a toll on the former legislator, pushing him to resort to extreme measures.

Moreover according to the source Kufahakutizwi had allegedly, ordered his accomplices still at large to destroy the vehicle stating that pastors should stick to the pulpit and not dabble in politics

Additionally, this incident is not the only stain on Kufahakutizwi's record. Kufahakutizwi is also facing accusations of assaulting Michael Nyasulu, a ZANU PF member who is reported to have sustained some injuries from the attacks.

Meanwhile, Kufahakutizwi's case throws the CCC into further disarray, as that party is already grappling with internal power struggle triggered by Tshabangu's recalls, and it now faces the additional burden of addressing accusations of violence within its ranks.
