Victoria Falls Town Clerk Ronny Dube has praised the Second Republic's Open Skies policy, calling it a tourism-friendly policy that can bring fortunes to Zimbabwe.
Speaking during FlySafair's maiden flight from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Victoria Falls, Dube said the introduction of the low-cost airline to Zimbabwe was an enabler for the tourism economy of Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe at large.
"This event has come to serve a critical role in the tourism economy of Victoria Falls and the nation at large. We owe it to the Government of Zimbabwe's wisdom which upgraded our airport to meet international standards which keep attracting more airlines into our beautiful city," Dube said.
According to Dube, the coming on board of FlySafair answers to Government's vision of being a smart competitive, Green sustaining, well-developed people offering a safe tourist and investment destination of choice by 2030.
He further expressed optimism that the introduction of FlySafair into Zimbabwe's air space would open doors for more international flights to jet into Victoria Falls.
Meanwhile, FlySafair becomes the ninth international airline to service Zimbabwe. Its introduction into Zimbabwean air space is expected to boost investments, while aiding to the creation of job opportunities in Zimbabwe.
