Chamisa slated for election denial threat

Citizens Coalition for Change leader, Nelson Chamisa has been lambasted for threatening to contest Harmonised General Elections results that are slated for end of this month.

Posting on his Twitter handle today, Tafara Shumba articulated that Chamisa`s utterances indicated how he would refute the election results if Zanu PF wins.

“These utterances are indicative of what he plots to do after election results come in favor of Zanu PF. Our security must remain vigilant as this puppet plots an uprising to unconstitutionally grab power. This is ridiculous. His utterances are those of a candidate who has now come face to face with inevitable reality of his defeat. You either win or lose in election and it`s a sign of political immaturity to enter in a race expecting only one result,” alluded Shumba.

Zimpapers Group Political Editor, Ranga Mataire attacked Chamisa stating that he wanted to be questioned for such a conduct because that is undemocratic.

“CCC leader, Mr Nelson Chamisa, says he will not accept any result that won`t declare him a winner. In other words, Mr Chamisa is trying to undemocratically and unconstitutionally appoint himself. As media, we must critically question this kind of conduct,” said Mataire.

One netizen,Vahombe posted on his Twitter handle alluding that Chamisa is a political terrorist who is selfish and that he is a danger to democracy.

“According to Nelson Chamisa, we can`t lose, we will not accept fake results, anything announced outside our victory is a lie, is fiction.’ What a Tragedy! Fellow Zimbabweans, Chamisa is a political terrorist, whose self-aggrandizement is a danger to democracy, to himself and the Zimbabwean populace.

“Chamisa`s reckless utterances and hunger for power, are a clear sign that Chamisa has propensity to reject Electoral Outcome, just like he did in 2018. Chamisa is already planning to reject the electoral outcome of the upcoming 23 August General Elections. Pathetic,” posted Vahombe.

Chamisa and his party are on record rejecting the electoral outcome whenever they lose. In 2018, Chamisa refused to concede defeat to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whom he accused of stealing the vote with the aid of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
