Chamisa disses Sikhala

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has reportedly dissed incarcerated Zengeza West legislator, Job Sikhala saying that he was not strategic in his approach to politics.

A source who spoke to this publication said that people should not read much into Chamisa’s recent visit to Rotten Row Court for Sikhala’s bail hearing as the visit was not sincere but for optics.

“People should not read much into that visit. Those were crocodile tears by Chamisa. The truth is that Chamisa has never liked Sikhala as he sees him as someone who competes for the limelight with him. When he is with his close associates, Chamisa would be dismissing Sikhala as a violent politician who is not calculative in his approach to politics,” said the source.

The source added that if Chamisa genuinely wanted Sikhala to be released from prison, he wouldn’t have let a low profile lawyer, Jeremiah Bamu to represent Sikhala.

“If Chamisa wanted Sikhala to be released from remand prison, he might have hired seasoned lawyers such as Professor Madhuku or Advocate Thabani Mpofu to represent Sikhala. Bamu is a low profile lawyer whose arguments in court are not convincing,” added the source.

According to the source, Chamisa accused Sikhala of playing to the trap of the Government by engaging in violent activities. It is reported that Sikhala visited the late Moreblessing Ali’s family without the blessings of Chamisa.

“Chamisa is saying that what has befallen Sikhala has nothing to do with CCC as he visited Ali’s family without the blessings of the party. Chamisa is actually angry with Sikhala whom he is accusing of always playing into the hands of the Government by engaging in violent activities,” said the source.

The same source further said that the beef between Sikhala and Chamisa was emanating from reports that Sikhala, together with Tendai Biti, has been visiting Western Embassies accusing Chamisa of being politically naïve and incompetent as a leader.

According to the source, Chamisa is aware that Sikhala has been working overtime to endear himself with the people as a better leader than Chamisa with the hope of dethroning him as the CCC leader.

Efforts to get a comment from Chamisa and CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere were futile as their mobile phones were not reachable.
