Thousands thronged Chipadze stadium in Bindura despite the chilly weather, for an engagement with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Addressing thousands of supporters, President Mnangagwa said victory was certain in July 30 plebiscites.
“We need to remain united like what we have demonstrated today by coming in our numbers. Let us show this oneness even on the election day,” President Mnangagwa said.
President Mnangagwa also told the gathering that government was doing whatever it takes to ensure that the economy improves. He said that it could not be achieved in a day but it’s a process.
The President said that so many companies were being opened in the country. He jokingly said he was failing to copy with the schedules for ground breaking ceremonies of the companies because of time since he is also supposed to do rallies ahead of this month’s harmonised elections.
He also said that he was re-engaging the international community following the sanctions imposed on the country which had isolated it from the global village. President Mnangagwa also said that he was not only re-engaging the international world but also engaging everyone who wants to invest in Zimbabwe because Zimbabwe is open for business.
“Our strength is in Agriculture which prompted the government to introduce command Agriculture,” said President Mnangagwa.
He added that Minister of Environment and National Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri was also spearheading command fishery. He said all these projects would help to improve even the Gross Domestic Product which is currently at 4,5 percent.
