The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) will host its inaugural Competitiveness Summit on 19 to 20 February, 2025, at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo.
The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, global experts, and investors to explore strategies for enhancing productivity and sustainable economic growth.
Under the theme “Building Sustainability Towards Enhanced Productivity and Competitiveness in Zimbabwe,” the summit will address the country’s economic challenges while unlocking new opportunities in an increasingly competitive global market.
Discussions will focus on policy direction, trade opportunities, and investment frameworks as Zimbabwe implements key economic reforms aimed at market stabilisation, industrial growth, and improved living standards.
The summit will be graced by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, as Guest of Honour, alongside senior Government officials and business leaders.
Additionally, international experts, including Professor Amit Kapoor, Honorary Chairman of the Institute for Competitiveness, India, will share insights on global best practices, investment strategies, and innovation-driven growth.
With the global economy shifting from comparative advantage to sustainable competitive advantage, Zimbabwe should innovate and strengthen its position in regional and global trade.
The rise of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) underscores the need for modern trade strategies, sustainable business models, and technological advancements to enhance Zimbabwe’s competitiveness.
A key focus of the summit will be practical solutions for sustainability, including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, industrial modernisation, and digital transformation.
These discussions will be crucial in advancing Zimbabwe’s goal of becoming an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
Participants will gain valuable insights from global and local experts on sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness.
The summit provides a platform to engage with top policymakers, business leaders, and investors, enhance visibility for their organisations, contribute to shaping Zimbabwe’s economic policies, and forge strategic partnerships for future success.
The NCC Competitiveness Summit offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, build strategic alliances, and position businesses for success in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
