President Emmerson Mnangagwa will today attend the 8th Annual National Agribusiness Virtual Conference at Andy Miller Conference Centre in Harare.
The virtual conference that will only run for today will be held under the theme, Agricultural Recovery Plan.
President Mnangagwa together with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Settlement Minister Dr Anxious Masuka will also attend the conference.
According to the program line up released by the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS), topics to be discussed during the one day conference include, Agricultural recovery plan and livestock growth plan, Mitigating the impact of Covid 19 on agricultural production and productivity, Climate proofed Presidential input support scheme and Extension services capacitation efforts, among other topics.
President Mnangagwa, who will also be the Guest of Honour, will deliver a message on Agricultural Recovery Plan and Livestock Growth Plan.
Other people who are expected to grace this conference include ZAS Chairperson Ngoni Kudenga, Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Oliver Chidhawu and Metrological Services Department Director Ruth Manzou, among other delegates.
The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement also advised the public that they were free to join the Zoom meeting as no fee will be charged.
The conference came at a time when the country is busy planning for the 2020/2021 agricultural season.
People in various communities have already started receiving the Presidential inputs and a bumper harvest is likely to be on the way after the Meteorological Services Department predicted normal to above normal rainfall in the country.
