The Zanu PF-SA Chapter has propped up efforts to aide Zimbabwean immigrants in South Africa from economic effects owing to Covid19 by soliciting for funds through crowdfunding on the gogetfunding page.
Speaking to this publication, Zanu PF-SA Secretary for Information and Publicity, Kennedy Mapesa Mandaza, advised that their initial roll out to affected families obtained positive feedback from well-wishers willing to take part in this noble initiative.
“We have been approached by a number of businesses, inquiring about how they can also come on-board to assists vulnerable families, as such we ended up opting to come up with a crowd funding page in order to capture everyone willing, and for extensive reach, hence we have created one,” he said.
The crowdfunding page is https://gogetfunding.com/zimbabwe-united-for-progress/
On the page there is a humble appeal whereby the organisation is calling for willing well-wishers to donate to this initiative. It reads; “Hello everyone, the Zimbabwe United for Progress collective are working to improve the conditions of Zimbabwean immigrants in South Africa. I just donated to the campaign and I am inviting you, my friends and family to contribute to the campaign which will feed more than 100,000 families which are struggling to sustain themselves. Click here to do your part.”

Since the corona outbreak, the group has since registered more than 5 000 families in need of assistance and are still recording more from their provincial representatives and various affiliate organisations such as churches.
The ZANU PF-SA branch sees beyond the lockdown as it has since created a revolving fund meant to assist small to medium scale Zimbabwean businesses affected by the lockdown past the corona outbreak.
