First lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa is a mother to all Zimbabweans and assists everyone who is in needy regardless of their political affiliation, Norton legislator Themba Mliswa has said.
Mliswa said this at the belated Christmas party for the elderly held yesterday at Dudley Hall primary school in Norton.
The gathering at Dudley Hall comprised of different churches, political parties, civic organisations and citizenry from different backgrounds.
Mliswa, an independent legislator, applauded the First lady for initiating developmental projects in his constituency, a departure from the previous dispensation where politicians outside ZANU PF were regarded as enemies.
The Norton legislator further thanked Amai Mnangagwa for her philanthropic work in Norton.
The First Lady distributed groceries, blankets and other goodies to the elderly in Norton. She also took time to prepare food and clean the environment at Katanga. She even shared a plate of sadza with Mr Mliswa, a sign that she is above party politics.
“Notwithstanding our political differences, you showed that we can work together for the good of the town. May you continue to share such good deeds with many others across Zimbabwe. May the works of the Angel of Hope Foundation be a blessing to those in need,” said the Norton legislator while thanking Amai Mnangagwa.
Mliswa further commended the First Lady’s message of love and her assistance to those in need regardless of political affiliation and suggested that the profound deed must filter throughout the nation.
Amai Mnangagwa’s visit to Norton put to rest unfounded allegations that the needy are being assisted in line with their political affiliation.
