ZANU PF official has tweeted today on its twitter handle today that Zimbabwe young nurses together with some individuals have formed an association that will help patients being neglected by some doctors who are alleged to be working with the MDC and its allies to frustrate Government efforts towards economic recovery.

“While some have been paid by the United States Embassy in Harare to down tools, there are some patriotic young nurses and individuals who formed an association and have volunteered their services at Parirenyatwa and Gomo hospitals,” tweeted the ZANU PF official twitter handle.

The Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association’s (ZHDA) strike is now clocking four months. They went on strike since, September 3 2019. Offers had been made to the doctors by Government on three occasions and the doctors rejected the offer.

Government had offered to double their salary, provide transport and food to the doctors an offer which the doctors refused.

The Minister of Health and Child Care, Honourable Obadiah Moyo had also availed plans by Government to construct accommodation for doctors in the near future but the doctors rejected the offer again.

Some stakeholders with the likes of Econet founder Strive Masiyiwa also chipped in to help the doctors but some of the doctors remained adamant and rejected the offer.

After being given an ultimatum of one week, some doctors then subdued to the offer by Masiyiwa.

This move by nurses of volunteering to serve patients will lessen the challenges being faced by patients in hospitals.
