MDC National Youth Chair Happymore Chidziva says the opposition party`s supporters are rowdy and radical and that they will do whatever it takes to defend their party and territory.
Addressing MDC supporters at a ‘Thank you’ rally in Sakubva, Mutare during the weekend, Chidziva said they would continue with their endeavour to remove Zanu PF from power and that they would also continue to demand for the whereabouts of the party`s abducted activist, Itai Dzamara.
“MDC youths are rowdy and radical and we will continue to be like that until our demands are addressed by Zanu PF and the government. We will do whatever it takes to reclaim our stolen vote from Zanu PF and nothing will stop us from fighting for our vote. We are not afraid of anyone, neither are we afraid of Zanu PF and we are ready to defend our party at all cost,” he said.
Chidziva boasted that he and other MDC leaders are now used to police arrests and no longer fear them. He said that the MDC would continue to blame Zanu PF and its security forces for Dzamara`s abduction.
Chidziva`s rowdy claims were clearly exhibited by the party supporters during the event when they booed the party`s Secretary General, Douglas Mwonzora for allegedly having presidential ambitions ahead of the party congress scheduled in May. Manicaland Provincial Chairperson David Chimhini also suffered the same fate when he was also booed for allegedly mobilising support for Mwonzora.
During his address, Chamisa highlighted that if President Emmerson Mnangagwa fails to engage him in what he termed free and fair talks, he would, as a second option mobilise other nationwide massive demonstrations to pressure the ruling party to release power to MDC.
