South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) Youth League has vowed to deal with the leader of Operation Dudula, Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Dhlamini, who is leading a militant vigilante group that is advocating for non-South African citizens to live that country.
Operation Dudula recently claimed the life of a Zimbabwe national, Elvis Nyathi, who was brutally murdered while working in South Africa.
Giving a solidarity message at the on-going ZANU PF National Youth Conference yesterday, ANC National Youth League Secretary for International Relations Khulekani Skosana denounced xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
“We are here to convey a message from the people of South Africa through President Cyril Ramaphosa. The liberation of African people exists here in Zimbabwe. There is one Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Dhlamini born Nhlanhla Paballo Mohlauli who is the leader of Operation Dudula whom we want to deal with. Pasi ne Dudula pasi.Viva African youth leagues viva,” said Skosana.
Skosana further said that Africans were one people and should freely interact without fear of being segregated or subjected to xenophobic attacks.
“As a South African, I am not a foreigner here. I am not a visitor here.This is home to all Africans. This is our home. When you go to South Africa, feel at home. You must go to South Africa and do whatever you want. You must go and open businesses,” added Skosana.
Skosana hailed President Mnangagwa’s economic policies and urged the people of Zimbabwe to overwhelmingly vote for him in next year’s elections.
“We feel welcome here in Zimbabwe in the land of Chikara (President Mnangagwa). The liberation of African people exists here. Young people are serious in this country in terms of empowerment because of your policies Cde President. We are saying in 2023 comrades, our AK 47 is a pen and paper to vote for President Mnangagwa as a way of thanking him for his economic policies,” added Skosana.
The ANC Youth League leader further implored the youths to be active participants in economic issues and play a part in the development of the country.
“We thank you Cde President. We do not want to be employed but we need to employ. We need to fight to ensure that young people have opportunities to enhance their lives. Youths should not just wear party regalia but must be active in the building of the country’s economy,” added Skosana.
Meanwhile, youth representatives from Tanzania, Burundi, Mozambique and Namibia called for the immediate removal of the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the West saying that they were hindering economic growth in the country.
