The plans were set in motion during a secret meeting held yesterday at the CCC party office in Belvedere, where Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, a prominent figure within the party, called on party supporters to mobilize and cause unrest.
According to the source, Kufahakutizwi urged attendees to arrange transportation for party supporters, specifically mentioning the use of at least four Kombis to ferry individuals to the High Court today.
"We will gather in strength and solidarity with our recalled MPs and stage demonstrations like this nation has never seen. If the police dare to disperse us, we will show them that we are not afraid. Windows will be smashed, and chaos will reign," Kufahakutizwi purportedly declared.
The source revealed that a team coordinated by CCC members Maxwell Mavhunga, Stephen Chuma, and Rangarirai Mutingwende had been tasked with barricading major roads leading to the Central Business District (CBD) starting at 0300 hours on 03 November 2023.
According to the source, other CCC members were prepared to spray graffiti throughout the CBD, further contributing to the planned disorder.
The source disclosed that Amos Chibaya, the CCC Movement Mobiliser, weighed in during the meeting, encouraging supporters to sustain the chaos until 4 November 2023.
The sources said that the goal was to attract the attention of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and force Zimbabwe to be on the agenda of the Extraordinary Summit.
Political commentator, Nobleman Runyanga said that the revelation of this plot raises serious concerns about the stability and security of the nation, especially considering the potentially violent nature of the planned demonstrations.
“Law enforcement agencies and security personnel must be on high alert, ready to respond to any unlawful activities to protect the citizens and maintain public order,” said Runyanga.
Efforts to get a comment from CCC spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi were futile as his mobile phones were not reachable.
