The former G40’s political meanders seem futile as efforts to recruit new members for the movement seem to have attracted a volley of criticism and probe into the movement’s leader, Tyson Kasukuwere’s character with many describing him as a an opportunist and egocentric person.
An insider who spoke to Harare Post on condition of anonymity revealed that Kasukuwere’s bid to come back into the national politics was not driven by love for the people as his allies allege that, instead he wants to get back at his perceived political foes.
“Kasukuwere has no intentions of saving the people, instead he wants to enrich himself as well as get back to his political foes whom he claims to have dirt on which he intends to reveal to the public.”
In an attempt to rope in many supporters, Kusukuwere is reported to have roped in a National Coordinator for the movement.
“Kasukuwere enlisted help from one Chief Ruzani who was making inroads to recruit people to the #Tyson wabantu movement though reports coming in indicate that many aren’t keen to join,” revealed the source.
Chief Ruzani reported back to movement’s leadership that he had been told point blank that the chances of Kasukuwere making it to the presidential ballot come 2023 were very slim as people still vividly recounts how he unleashed violence on his perceived political enemies.
According to chats on one of the Mashonaland central provincial WhatsApp groups, Ba Cee lamented, “Kasukuwere is a self-proclaimed thug who is not fit to be re admitted into the politics of this country.”
Other people also questioned his moral compass, as he has a reputation for disrespecting war veterans.
Kasukuwere is on record describing war veterans as drunkards and taxi drivers, a description which still irks many war veterans. Likewise, the presidential aspirant is believed to have bashed a former war veteran’s district chairman for Mt Darwin, Cde Chinyandura at a ward meeting in 2005.
One Terrence Madondo of Rushinga lashed out at Kasukuwere’s fantasy to lure people saying that he was overrating his chances of dethroning the current government.
“We cannot sell our birth right for a bowl of soup. We know that Kasukuwere is planning to splash money on people to lure them to his stench movement, but I guarantee you, the movement will find no takers,” said Madondo.
Adding on, the closed source further revealed that the #Tyson wabantu movement is one and the same with the National Patriotic Front (NPF) currently led by Sandi Moyo.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the NPF leadership was recently held in Gweru where a resolution to relegate the current leadership to the terraces was made.
The meeting agreed to give Kasukuwere as their poster boy for the new political party to be named National Patriotic Front –Saviour Save Us (NPF-SSU). Political commentators said political parties that bear a name of an individual is bound to fail evidenced by party forerunners MDC-M of Mutambara and MDC-T of Morgan Tsvangirai.
The #Tyson wabantu movement has been created to promote former Zanu PF political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere as the new alternative to the Zimbabwean politics come 2023 presidential elections.
