The phrase ‘birds of the same feather flock together’ has been in existence since the 1500s and it is used to describe those of similar thoughts, behaviour and action.
The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has made no secret of their deep admiration of the United States of America (USA) and how they do their business (war). One of the party’s vice presidents (Tendai Biti) has even been referred to as a friend of America by one US lawmaker.
In fact, it is on record that when Zimbabwe freed itself from the jaws of corruption and mis-governance in November 2017, the MDC quickly assembled a team comprising of Nelson Chamisa, Biti, Dewa Mavhinga and Rhodesian journalist and writer Peter Godwin to appear before their friends in the US Congress and beg them to keep a chokehold on Zimbabwe’s economy.
They pleaded with the US Congress to “Maintain existing US policy toward Zimbabwe until the military removes itself from politics and the 2018 elections are legitimately assessed to be peaceful, transparent, free and fair and that power is smoothly transmitted to the newly elected government.”
The existing US policy which is of course that of sanctions against the people of Zimbabwe.
Looking at events of the first week of 2020 and how the US has violated international law and showed a complete disregard for mere human decency it is no wonder they are birds of the same feather with our own morally bankrupt MDC.
The US president on 1 January announced that they had murdered the second most influential person in Iran, General Qasim Sulimani. The killing of the General was claimed to be a move to avoid an ‘imminent attack’ which Sulimani was supposedly planning against the US.
However, it came as no surprise when the US president failed to provide evidence or further details on the said attack. In essence the US president lied to the world to justify the killing of a foreign general on foreign soil. As if that was not enough President Donald Trump even threatened to further violate international laws by attacking Iranian cultural sites and using disproportional force if Iran was to retaliate after the slaying of their General.
It comes as again no surprise that this is not the first time the US has lied to the world to quench their lust for war and disregard for human lives.
When George Bush went to war with Iraq in 2003 he claimed that it was to save the world from the weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) which Iraq was said to have. The then US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, even took his country’s lies to the UN and presented false evidence of the WMDs which up to now have never been found.
So when Trump decided to lie again to the world he did it so effortlessly as it is in his nation’s DNA to not give a crap to what the world thinks and the resultant consequences.
Looking at how the US has continued to deceive the world at the cost of countless lives and how they are so admired by the MDC it is not so far-fetched to say that the MDC is just the same as their North American friends and they will do anything and say whatever they have to appease their thirst for power and of course MONEY which is why the US will not leave the middle east in peace and why the MDC wants to see this country in chaos so long as they are not in power.
