ZimLive founder and G40 propagandist, Mduduzi Mathuthu recently penned an article in which he narrated part of G40 kingpins, Professor Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukuwere’s escape from the country after Operation Restore Legacy (ORL) in November 2017 with the aim of sprucing up the #TysonWabantu campaign, but only managing to expose the coward that is Kasukuwere and company.
In Mathuthu’s article titled, “A tortuous 19-hour journey to safety: how Moyo and Kasukuwere fled Zimbabwe,” the author attempted to portray the duo as heroes who survived the face of danger through bravery and wit, but only exposed them for who they are.
Kasukuwere in the face of danger, equipped only himself with a bulletproof vest and got in one of the 2 landcruisers sent by the former First Lady Grace Mugabe and abandoned not only Prof Moyo, but his family as well, leaving behind 11 people to fit in the remaining one car. The level of selfishness and self centred is nauseating for someone who wants to become the State President.
Prof Moyo is on record saying, “When the first Landcruiser arrived, Cde Kasukuwere put on his bulletproof vest and went outside the house and was driven to the Blue Roof. We waited for Cde Kasukuwere to come back to advise us what was going on outside as we did not know then that he had already gone alone to the Blue Roof, but when he did not return, after a little while, we all started getting out of the house one by one, but fearing that the soldiers were still in the vicinity.”
True leaders show themselves in the face of danger and they put others first before themselves, a test that Kasukuwere failed dismally. The #TysonWabantu initiative aims to portray Kasukuwere as a Presidential candidate who is a people person, a farce which has been exposed by Mathuthu.
It is no wonder that Kasukuwere himself has vehemently dismissed the article as it exposes him as not only a coward but a deserter who failed his family and close friends at the hour of need, desperation and distress.
Turning to his micro blogging page on Twitter, Kasukuwere accused Mathuthu of twisting facts, “Mduduzi ~ Stop this unacceptable fiction. Don’t twist facts and if you want the story ask! A tortuous 19-hour journey to safety: how Moyo and Kasukuwere fled Zimbabwe.”
Turning to Tyson’s Presidential aspirations, since the introduction of the #TysonWabantu campaign there has been a lot of backlash on social media with a lot of netizens questioning his credentials and also pointing out that he has a lot of skeletons in his closet.
UK based, Sylvanos Mudzvova had this to say, “Tanga wataura vanhu vakafa at your instructions in Mt Darwin totangira ipapo otherwise you will suffer same fate with Joyce Mujuru.”
Another netizen, Mufaro Musiki said, “Chimbotiudza kuti ziimba rawakavaka riya zvine brain here munyika inekushushikana kwakadai? Dei wakatovaka hotera hauoni kuti zvaiita nani? You would create jobs and make more money for yourself? I think umbavha hwaikuputirai you never thought it would end.”
As if by his own admission, Kasukuwere tweeted, “Damascene moments are rare and true. Leadership is acknowledging mistakes of the past and perfecting our way going forward. In the Bible Saul became Paul and changed the face of the New Testament. As we press forward we remember yesterday’s missteps.”
Kasukuwere’s nick name, Tyson is supposed to reflect someone who is tough and resilient, but alas, Mathuthu has exposed him as weak and nothing more, but a coward. As the old adage goes, “when the going gets tough, the tough gets running,” but for Kasukuwere it was the other way round he failed to match the stamina and fled from the scene.
