Whilst thousands of Zimbabweans gathered for the Government organised and SADC backed anti-sanctions march on 25 October, the so-called opposition fraternity in cahoots with the American embassy stood to derail it.
It remains a fact that the majority of citizens are suffering in Zimbabwe due to the illegal sanctions imposed by the Western regimes which devastated the socio-economic spheres of the country, despite the posturing by opposition MDC and their immoral backers the America to propagate otherwise.
Personalities like Nelson Chamisa have always been up in arms with the Second Republic for allegedly raiding their votes in the 2018 harmonised elections, despite failing to prove their case before our esteemed courts.
One would then wonder why such personalities are calling for the extension of public suffering by calling for sanctions, if truly they were voted for and have people at heart?
The successful anti-sanctions march which was supported by Zimbabweans and other SADC countries calling for the removal of sanctions on Zimbabwe still reflect the will of all progressive Zimbabweans.
The so-called political pastors who seek political mileage by pouring ‘jecha’ on the plight of the people would then make one wonder if these leaders are really for the people and whose voice are they representing?
An open question to Chamisa would then be, ‘what kind of a man of God would wish to see the public suffering for his political mileage?’
If MDC was the people’s choice as they would claim, this was the opportunity time to unite with the same people in calling for the removal of these barriers to economic freedom in Zimbabwe.
This is not what we saw of the opposition MDC. What we saw was the MDC stage managing events, attacking police officers to provoke the police and cause scenes to attract international human rights proponents’ attention,
We saw MDC hooligans masquerading as vendors declaring MDC’s Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House (MRTH) a ‘no go area’ for the police.
We further saw MDC organising counter demonstrations to disrupt the anti-sanctions march. The same MDC which went celebrating on social media declaring the march as a flop, much to the delight and script of their handlers, the America, who went into panic mode on the day of the march countering the narrative that sanctions had wrought untold suffering on the ordinary Zimbabweans.
Putting the issue of the crowd aside and juxtapose these two scenarios, Government planned march against sanctions, and the MDC planned demonstration, and try to assess their intended goals.
The Government is saying let us come together as one voice to call for the removal of Western imposed sanctions, MDC is saying let us march for the extension of these sanctions, let us provoke the police so that they “victimise” us. Which voice is representing the voice of people? This opposition behaviour is peculiar if compared with progressive opposition parties in other countries, which unite for the good of country.
The opposition fraternity, MDC so to say, is in the habit of converting negative speech into reality. A popular saying by its founding icon Morgan Tsvangirai “mati muri kushaya, muchashayisisa” is here to support this. Just after the 2018 harmonised elections, the same proponents of change went on to ascertain the people that ‘they voted for poverty and they shall see it.’ It poses a question on where we are going as a nation.
It is without doubt that whilst the Second Republic aims to restore the country to be a nation of milk and honey, the opposition political fraternity have nothing to offer except to oppose government efforts and wring mirage from public suffering to please their master funders.
If ZANU PF is corrupt and the same corruption has allegedly destroyed this country, what are they doing as the opposition fraternity since they form part of the House of Assembly in parliament, a decision making board?
Politics of sabotage will take this country nowhere because both ZANU PF and MDC members will be suffering. Poverty doesn’t select whether you are MDC or ZANU PF.
