If there is anything the MDC approach to politics has managed to do overtime, it is to make Zimbabweans poorer particularly that party’s supporters. The avid desire, by Nelson Chamisa to shoot down any government’s initiative has worked very well in bringing misery to his supporters and other like-minded opposition elements. That is the irony of the much touted ‘jecha’ phenomenon which Chamisa said is akin to putting sand in maize meal ‘sadza’.
Putting sand in sadza basically means there would be no meal at the end of the day. This is not surprising given Chamisa’s undying appetite to make Zimbabwe ungovernable, but has this been yielding the desired political dividends?
For long Chamisa and lieutenants have been so bent in causing chaos in the country for the purposes of arm-twisting people so that they revolt against Government at the same time sending negative signals to the world over that President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed.
In pursuit of this scotched-earth policy, Chamisa has been deterring his followers in participating in any Government policy or initiative. Since time in memorial, the MDC have been shying away from prominent projects like the Land Redistribution Exercise, Presidential Inputs Scheme and a lot others.
The long andshort of this approach is that the membership of the MDC has been left in the cold, when their leaders are enjoying the benefits. To start with, Chamisa is in business with former President, Robert Mugabe, as he runs the deliveries of the Gushungo Dairy products. This is clear daylight witchcraft Zimbabweans, who does that really?
MDC Vice President, Professor Welshman Ncube, owns a farm and is utilising the land for his personal well-being. Honestly there is nothing wrong about an opposition political party opposing Government, but the dilemma comes when the leaders deliberately mislead their subjects. In this case, the MDC supporters are increasingly becoming poor by each day and then pushed to vent their anger towards Government for their impoverished state.
In essence, the opposition leadership in Zimbabwe is hoodwinking its supporters.
Many business personalities in the opposition are permanent faces at the State Procurement Board premises, yet they unashamedly lead their supporters into thick forests of poverty where they may never find their way back from.
The ball has to be rolled into the court of opposition supporters and we encourage our brothers and sisters to take inventory of their lives by weighing the cost and benefits of this their struggle.
What kind of struggle is Chamisa and crew getting them to fight? Surely what kind of struggle that won’t let people become self-sufficient? It is high time Zimbabwean stop this sheepish allegiance to some individuals who are bent on fattening their pockets at the expense of their supporters’ well-being.
Life certainly, has no rehearsal and we only live just once. The Land Reform Program has come and gone. It will certainly take a revolution to reverse it; those left out, now have a small chance to own a piece land.
The opposition went a little overboard over their politicking and untamed appetite for power. God should have mercy on their supporters, those who have acted differently have been labelled ‘sellouts’ but they at least have an iota of wisdom which manifested through them seeking to benefit from Government initiated programs. A deep thought over this kind of politicking simply shows that MDC is pregnant with merchants of witchcraft. Generations have lost a chance to a better life. I hope from this submission it has become crystal clear that the mantra that the MDC brought sanctions to Zimbabwe is not mere politicking by ZANU PF.
For a long time Zimbabweans have been taken for a ride and it is time the blindfold is removed. The country’s social fabric has been torn apart by these irresponsible politicians. Everyone deserves better, Zimbabwe is for everyone. Zimbabweans can do better without toxic politics from the opposition, a glimpse at how people are mitigating the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai depict this.
At the end of the day there is no tag to life such as MDC life or ZANU PF generation, we ought to make the best of our lifetimes and desist from being used as political pawns on a chess board.
The strife at MDC ahead of its elective congress could be putting a smile on the gods as they realise their people are finally awakening and vomiting toxic politics comprised of structures manipulation and undemocratic processes. Zimbabweans deserve better.
