Mashonaland Central Chiefs Council Chairperson, Clemence Nembire said chiefs are optimistic that the current hardships the country was facing was a temporary situation which would soon come to pass.

Speaking to Harare Post during President Mnangagwa's second thank you rally in My Darwin, Mashonaland Central today, Chief Nembire said people should be patient and give President Mnangagwa and his team time to address the situation and give long lasting solutions.

"We are happy as chiefs with the efforts of our President and his team in trying to mend our economy. Yes things seem not to be well now but we are very optimistic that Zimbabwe will soon return to its glory days where it was known as the bread basket of Africa.

Chief Nembire said the current crop situation was fair and farmers were happy that they received Presidential inputs for the 2018/19 farming season in time.

"We thank our President for availing Presidential inputs in time and our farmers are doing well despite the erratic rainfall the country is experiencing. We are also happy that we received Zunde raMambo inputs for chiefs grain reserves."

Chief Nembire said generally the crop situation was fair in most parts of the province and hoped that they would receive  rains this week so that the crops continue to grow.

Chief Nembire, however, appealed to the government to construct decent Chiefs courts where they carryout their traditional day to day activities.
