Government has called on private players in the education sector to collaborate in transforming and developing the country’s infrastructure, emphasizing a collective effort to uplift education standards.
This message took centre stage during a celebration at Eagles Christian Group of Schools in Harare, where stakeholders gathered to recognize the achievements of private sector contributions.
Speaking at the event, this Sunday, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerayi Moyo, highlighted the Government’s readiness to support private initiatives that align with established regulations.
“We are encouraging the private sector to come on board in setting up schools, which will enhance infrastructure development. However, it is essential that proper procedures are followed, and schools are registered accordingly,” said Minister Moyo.
Stakeholders expressed appreciation for the Government’s supportive policies, which they say have created conducive environment for private education institutions to thrive.
“We fully support the Government’s stance on collaborative efforts. Building schools is a shared responsibility, and private players must ensure they comply with registration requirements,” said the Liaison Officer for the Zimbabwe Independent Colleges
Association, Dr Tapera Chikandiwa.
Eagles Christian Group of Schools founder, Thusitse Kuta, echoed similar sentiments, praising the Government’s commitment to fostering a thriving private education sector.
“We are grateful for the policies that allow us to grow and support the Government’s vision for education,” she said.
The event also celebrated academic excellence, with awards presented to top-performing students and the graduation of young learners. Such initiatives, stakeholders noted, not only boost morale but also inspire future achievements.
As Zimbabwe seeks to enhance its education sector, public-private partnerships remain pivotal. The Government’s call for collaboration is a clear signal that inclusive development is the key to ensuring access to quality education for all.
