Government remains steadfast in its commitment to road rehabilitation and construction, with substantial progress on major road projects nationwide, a survey by The Harare Post reveals.

Infrastructure development remains a top priority, with projects advancing steadily across the country.
Surface works on the heavily trafficked Domboshava Road are progressing smoothly, marking a significant stride in the government's road improvement initiative.

Meanwhile, the Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe Road reconstruction has seen 39 kilometres rehabilitated and surfaced, leaving only 4 kilometres to completion. This project is expected to enhance connectivity and boost economic activity in the region.

At the critical Mbudzi Interchange, precast plank installation has been successfully completed on Bridge Number 3, marking another milestone in the expansive infrastructure upgrade.

The Mbudzi project aims to address chronic traffic congestion, offering a more efficient and safer passage for commuters.

Speaking to The Harare Post yesterday, Knowledge Kaitano, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee for Transport and Infrastructure Development, affirmed the government's resolve to press on with road rehabilitation projects, citing infrastructure as a vital area of focus. “Road rehabilitation and infrastructure development are essential for our nation’s economic growth. The government is doing all it can to ensure that our road networks are improved and maintained,” Kaitano stated.

Kaitano emphasised the importance of reliable road infrastructure for Zimbabwe's overall development, pledging the government’s commitment to consistent upgrades. “Every road rehabilitated brings us closer to a more connected Zimbabwe, where transportation is safer and more efficient. The ongoing projects are a testament to our dedication to infrastructure that supports our people and our economy,” he added.

These ongoing projects reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing Zimbabwe’s road network, signalling a long-term vision to create resilient infrastructure across the country.
