The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) has launched a vital initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs by emphasizing the importance of investing in their potential.
This announcement was made during the Women in Enterprise Conference Awards (WECA), where Chief Director Rudo Faranisi highlighted the numerous opportunities available for women across various value chains, particularly within the government’s rural industrial initiative.
“There are many avenues for women in the entrepreneurship world. They should focus on building strong networks, view their businesses as careers rather than jobs, and break existing boundaries,” Faranisi stated, urging women to seize these opportunities.
The conference also featured a compelling keynote address from Professor Mamokgeth Phakeng, who encouraged attendees to embrace resilience and passion in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
“Women must remain steadfast and passionate about their work. Resilience is key to overcoming the challenges that come with entrepreneurship,” she emphasized.
The event served as a platform to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women in various sectors, underscoring their significant contributions to the economy. Attendees left inspired and equipped with valuable insights on navigating the business landscape and fostering a supportive community among women entrepreneurs.
As the ZNCC continues to advocate for gender equality in business, initiatives like WECA play a crucial role in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and enhancing their impact in Zimbabwe's economic landscape.
