Government has announced that the 100-day cycle projects will continue to bear fruit as a total of 493 projects aligned with Vision 2030 have been implemented for the year 2023.
In a post-Cabinet media briefing yesterday, Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Jenfan Muswere said that some of the 493 priority projects have since surpassed set targets.
“The nation is advised that a total of four hundred and ninety-three (493) projects were implemented under the 100-Day Cycle Priority Projects for 2023. The priority projects were selected on the basis of alignment to Vision 2030. The majority of the projects, 348 in total, surpassed set targets, while 61 performed within the agreed range,” said Minister Muswere.
In addition, Minister Muswere highlighted that the key achievements cut across 14 National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) thematic areas.
“Among the key achievements which cut across the 14 NDS1 thematic areas include the construction of a Baobab Juice Plant at Mutare Teachers College in Manicaland Province; the deployment of 92 base stations and the establishment of 40 community information centres countrywide; the installation of radiology and radiotherapy equipment at Parirenyatwa Group of hospitals and at all provincial and central hospitals; the upgrading of 30 schools through the construction of new classroom blocks and ablution facilities; the establishment of 12 boarding schools; the registration of 40 satellite schools; the drilling of boreholes; and solarization,” added Minister Muswere.
Last week, Minister Muswere also informed that the Cabinet had approved the compendium for the first 100-day cycle projects for 2024, adding that the projects would involve all Ministries except Defence, Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, Environment, Climate, and Wildlife.
“The nation is informed that the First 100 Day Cycle is running from February 5, 2024, to May 15, 2024. The cycle covers 182 projects and involves projects from all Ministries except Defence; Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, Environment, Climate, and Wildlife,” Minister Muswere said.
Meanwhile, the 100-day projects introduced by the New Dispensation are widely credited with accelerating development across the country.
