Several Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillors in Bulawayo find themselves on thin ice, facing the threat of recall following their purported attendance at a meeting organized by Nelson Chamisa's loyalists.

The meeting, aimed at drumming up support for Chamisa's yet-to-be-launched political outfit, has sparked controversy within the opposition ranks, with accusations of betrayal and disloyalty levelled against the councillors involved.

According to a reliable source, CCC councillors from various wards in Bulawayo were spotted at a gathering held at McDonalds Hall in Mzilikazi, addressed by prominent Chamisa allies, Gift Siziba and Amos Chibaya.

 The councillors, reportedly donning blue t-shirts emblazoned with the inscription "Democratic Alternative of Zimbabwe," were identified as Ward 9 Councillor, Donaldson Mabuto, Ward 21 Councillor, Tinevimbo Maphosa, Ward 22 Councillor, Bruce Mmeli Moyo, Ward 26 Councillor, Mpumelelo Moyo, and Victoria Falls Councillor, Ephias Mambune.

"The attendance of these councillors at a pro-Chamisa meeting has deeply unsettled some CCC leaders who have swiftly branded them as sellouts. Plans are now underway to initiate their recall from council," revealed the source.

Expressing discontent over the councillors' alleged betrayal, a CCC senior leader issued a stern warning, stating, "We will not tolerate any form of collaboration or allegiance to rival factions within our ranks. Those who betray the party's principles and align with external interests will face the consequences of their actions."

Meanwhile, reports from the meeting paint a chaotic picture, with disorder prevailing amidst a majority of attendees appearing visibly intoxicated.

The lack of order and decorum marred the proceedings, casting a shadow over the purported efforts to galvanize support for Chamisa's political agenda.

As tensions simmer within the CCC and allegations of disloyalty swirl, the fate of the implicated councillors hangs in the balance.
