Citizens applaud Government's swift action against cholera outbreak

In a united voice of gratitude, citizens across various communities are applauding the Government for its prompt and effective measures to curb the spread of cholera.

One of the key initiatives that citizens are commending is the immediate safe water trucking in affected urban areas. Residents in these areas have witnessed the timely delivery of clean water, ensuring access to a vital resource and helping to contain the waterborne disease.

Simon Matsva, a local business owner, expressed his gratitude highlighting that provision of safe water was a lifeline and showed Government`s commitment to the welfare of the people.

"The immediate safe water trucking in our area is a lifeline. It shows the Government's commitment to our well-being.

"Having access to clean water through the revived boreholes is a relief. The Government's efforts are making a real difference," Matsva reiterated.

Owen Ndatengu a community leader commended the Government's water quality monitoring process, indicating that they now have peace of mind as they now know that they are accessing clean and safe water.

"Knowing that our water is regularly checked gives us peace of mind. It's a crucial step in preventing cholera," he said.

Robert Tadera, a homeowner, praised the provision of household water treatment technologies.

"Being able to treat our water at home is assuring and empowering us. The Government is equipping us to protect our families," said Tadera.

Moreso, the repairing of burst sewer pipes has brought relief to many communities grappling with inadequate sanitation. Citizens highlight the significance of this action in preventing the contamination of water sources and averting the further spread of cholera.

Sister Talent, a local advocate for sanitation, highlighted the significance of repairing burst sewer pipes, saying that it was a stride towards a healthier community.

"Clean water and proper sanitation go hand in hand. Fixing the pipes is a step toward a healthier community," said Talent.

Furthermore, regular refuse collection and removal of garbage have received praise for creating cleaner environments.

Daniel Gasva, a community member, expressed gratitude for the Government's commitment to regular refuse collection illustrating that it kept diseases at bay.

"Clean surroundings matter. Regular garbage removal helps keep diseases at bay, especially during a cholera outbreak," said Gasva.

Meanwhile, the Government remains steadfast in its commitment of providing technical assistance, supplies, and raising awareness. To date, the country recorded 34 new recoveries with a national recovery rate of 97 percent and 102 cases in-care since the outbreak earlier this year.
