MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa, this morning, revealed to the entire nation that he has invested in the most expensive legal counsel to secure the presidency of this nation for himself, by choosing himself over the unpaid workers at Harvest House.
Chamisa was quoted saying “I have put together an A Team of experienced, tried and tested legal experts drawn from the best minds.”
One Advocate who chose to remain anonymous, commented that “Nelson Chamisa has shown his true colours of being a dictator flushing down huge sums of money on legal fees yet he knows his petition has no merit.”
“Counsel’s fees are dependent on how long, a particular counsel has been practicing, so ordinarily for an Advocate of Dali Mpofu’s status, a seasoned advocate working a big constitutional matter; you would expect fees ranging from R5000 per hour to anything as high as R8000. The daily fee will have to be multiplied by ten hours,” said the Advocate.
The maths will entail that Chamisa spent R8000 per hour by ten hours, giving R80 000 per day by 5 Advocates which adds up to R400 000, that figure multiplied by 2 weeks as stipulated by the Constitution to be the time it could take the Constitutional Court to reach its decision.
Meanwhile, some MDC Alliance workers are breathing fire that they have not yet been paid yet Chamisa is able to spend exorbitantly on himself. Other MDC Alliance leaders are very furious that Chamisa has once again showed his dictatorial tendencies by not consulting them as leaders within the MDC Alliance for guidance before running to the Con Court and spending exorbitant amounts on legal fees.
“Chamisa is very selfish how can he commit to paying such large fees to foreign lawyers yet we have seasoned advocates at law here in Zimbabwe,” said an MDC Alliance leader who declined to be identified for fear of victimisation.
“It is Chamisa’s fault that we are in this predicament, because he is the one who failed to place election agents at more than 2 500 polling station citing lack of finances, but now he has money to waste away on legal fees that concern him,” he added.
Meanwhile the country is on the edge of the seat waiting to hear the final verdict in the Constitutional Court beginning Wednesday.
