The ZANU PF Youth League has reiterated its support for the Party and President Mnangagwa in the forthcoming elections and vowed to work tirelessly to ensure the party's victory this year.
Speaking at a meeting held in Harare at the ZANU PF Headquarters for Africa Day celebrations, the Harare Province Youth League Chairman Emmanuel Mahachi said that the youths would defend the revolution and canvass votes for President Mnangagwa.
"As the Youth League, we thank His Excellency Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for including the youth in every aspect of his leadership from economic, political and social participation of the youth. There is need to appreciate the leadership of the Second Republic for efforts done in modernizing our infrastructure across the country, building of dams, hospitals, clinics, schools, innovation hubs and construction of the roads.
"Today we have aligned our Nation's Vision 2030 with the African theme for 2023 which is under the theme, 'Accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area' to bring greater prosperity to the continent’. We declare our unwavering support to his Excellency President ED Mnangagwa in the upcoming Harmonized General Elections and we are doing everything in our power to make sure that the party wins in Harare. As the vanguard of the party we will not hesitate to safeguard the party against any attempts to derail our President’s efforts to ensure peaceful polls which are being threatened by some in the country," said Mahachi.
Mahachi further added that President Mnangagwa has developed the economy of the country through the implementation of progressive policies.
“The President introduced the National Development Strategy (NDS1) in order to lay the ground for the attainment of Vision 2030 which is possible through the enhancement of value addition, beneficiation, production and import substitution. We have realized improvement in the participation of youths in key sectors of the economy,” he said.
Mahachi reassured the President and the party leadership that the youth league would defend the revolution and its gains tirelessly, assuring victory for the party in Harare where the opposition has been in control since 2000. The Youth League plays a vital role as the vanguard of the party in support mobilization.
Secretary for Youth Affairs in the Politburo, Cde Tinoda Machakaire, several officials from the Hebert Chitepo School of Ideology and Secretary for War Veterans in the Politburo, Cde Douglas Mahiya attended the meeting.
