Mothers interviewed expressed relief and applauded the Government for taking the initiative to refurbish the mother shelters in Nkayi.
“We are more than grateful as there was a crisis in Nkayi Hospitals, most of us dreaded our maternal stay in the hospital as there was only one toilet and sometimes their dormitories accommodated up to eight people at a time, and we are glad that they are now more than enough mother shelters with adequate facilities,” said one woman.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo and Tsholotsho mother shelters were also recently refurbished in line with the Government’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind in terms of development.
