….as it plots to dethrone Chamisa

A faction within the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) previously known as the Maruva Cabal has since morphed into Sesedza Movement and is plotting to dethrone Nelson Chamisa as that party’s leader soon after this year’s elections.
Sesedza is a Shona word that simply means taking someone for a ride.
A source within CCC confided in this publication that the Sesedza Movement had the backing of CCC heavy weights such as Murisi Zwizwai, Tendai Biti, Charlton Hwende, Jacob Mafume and the incarcerated Job Sikhala.
According to the source, the Sesedza Movement has resolved to give Chamisa plastic smiles and then pass a vote of no confidence in him soon after his anticipated defeat in this year’s presidential elections.
“The Sesedza movement is plotting to dethrone Chamisa as the leader of the opposition outfit after the forthcoming elections. They are of the view that Chamisa is weak and should not be at the helm of the party. They are confident that Chamisa does not have the political ground to win in the coming elections, and they are going to use that to their advantage to remove him from power,” said the source.
The source added that the Sesedza Movement was accusing Chamisa of being politically inept and lacking leadership skills to steer CCC to victory. Chamisa is further accused of turning CCC into his personal project at the same time relegating seasoned members to the peripheries of that party’s affairs.
However, the same source said that Chamisa was aware of the Sesedza Movement’s machinations and was doing everything in his power to weaken that opposing faction.
“Chamisa is aware of the Sesedza Movement’s machinations and this explains his lackadaisical approach in trying to assist in the release from jail of the incarcerated Job Sikhala. He knows that Sikhala is a key member of the Sesedza Movement and his release from prison would further destabilize CCC. This is the reason Chamisa is doing everything in his power to weaken the Sesedza Movement so as to derail its plans of dethroning him,” said the source.
Meanwhile, the same source claimed that Chamisa’s delay in putting in place solid party structures was due to his fear that the Sesedza Movement members might land influential positions thereby weakening his grip on power.
Efforts to get a comment from CCC interim spokesperson, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere were futile as her mobile phones were not reachable.
