Citizens Coalition for Change party members are dissatisfied with the candidate selection process which will take place at designated venues across the country, the Harare Post has learnt.
According to an impeccable source within that party’s interim national executive CCC members were dissatisfied with the candidate selection process which was preventing others from participating.
“The party members are dissatisfied with the candidate selection process because the leadership is keeping a tight lid on it, while preventing others from participating. The aggrieved party members are frantic because they fear that the imposition of candidates is likely to happen because they will be no declaration of results after the candidate selection process.
“The party members argue that there is room for the leadership to impose their own nominations. They are claiming that the selection process seems like a hidden attempt to put their preferred candidates. No information is being shared with the people and the people are protesting claiming that it’s their right to know how the process is going to follow through. The candidate selection process has been ruled out as a fake process meant to deceive people, while they impose their own candidates,” revealed the source.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF National Spokesperson, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa emphasised on transparency, urging CCC and Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) to conduct their candidate selection processes in a systematic way in order to develop ethos of Zimbabwe.
“We are hoping that CCC and MDC can follow suite in a systematic way of selecting candidates in order to develop the ethos of Zimbabwe. We conducted our primary elections and results are being published in the open,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
