Collins Tsvangirai, brother to late Morgan Tsvangirai, has dumped the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and joined ZANU PF.
A source who spoke to this publication said that Tsvangirai was at ZANU PF headquarters in Harare last week where he attended a strategic meeting.
“It’s true that Tsvangirai has dumped CCC and joined ZANU PF. Last week, he was at ZANU PF headquarters attending a strategic meeting. After the meeting, he had a photo-shoot with some senior ZANU PF members including Patrick Chinamasa,” said the source.
According to the source, Tsvangirai regrets ever associating with Nelson Chamisa and has since described him as a political toddler not worth to lead any opposition party in Zimbabwe.
The same source added that Tsvangirai said he had cut ties with CCC and MDC parties after realizing that they had diverted from the political principles set by the late Morgan Tsvangirai.
The source said that Tsvangirai accused both Chamisa and Mwonzora of being in politics for self-aggrandizement. According to the source, Tsvangirai said that repeated efforts to have an audience with Chamisa were futile as Chamisa had declared that his political outfit was a new movement with nothing to do with the late Morgan Tsvangirai family.
“Tsvangirai accused Chamisa and Mwonzora of being in politics to self-enrich themselves. He said he decided to join ZANU PF after realizing that the opposition parties have nothing meaningful to offer to the people of Zimbabwe,” said the source.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Morgan Tsvangirai’s son, Vincent has also joined ZANU PF and the rest of the family members, except Richard, ware reportedly set to follow suit.
