Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), leader Nelson Chamisa has sent one of his close allies, Councillor Denford Ngadziore, to South Africa (SA) to source funds from that party’s diaspora community.
A source who spoke to this publication said that Ngadziore visited South Africa today to meet with CCC supporters in that country to urge them to consider donating towards party programmes.
“Chamisa has sent Ngadziore to South Africa today to appeal to the diaspora community to start donating money towards support of party programmes. Of late, the diaspora community has not been contributing much towards party programmes. Ngadziore’s task is to convince the diaspora members to consider partnering with the party ahead of the 2023 elections,” said the source.
According to the source, CCC members in the diaspora have stopped sending money over complains that there was massive embezzlement and abuse of funds within CCC.
The source said that Ngadziore was tasked by Chamisa to reassure the diaspora community that all their monetary donations would be put to good use and would be accounted for by Chamisa himself.
The source added that Ngadziore is also set to meet Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader, Mmusi Maimane to ask him to help in mobilising election funds for CCC.
“Ngadziore will also meet Mmusi Maimane to plead with him to consider assisting CCC with mobilisation of funds. In the past, Maimane has been acting as Chamisa’s advisor and close confidante. Ngadziore is expected to return with some funds and election materials from Maimane,” said the source.
Meanwhile, there are reports that CCC coffers were in red and Chamisa has been moving around with a begging bowel asking his traditional benefactors to assist in the forthcoming elections.
