President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged ZANU PF Women’s League to create internal capacities to increase production and productivity in Zimbabwe.
President Mnangagwa said this while speaking at the 7th ZANU PF Women’s League Conference at Harare International Conference Centre (H.I.C.C), where he bemoaned the effect of sanctions on the country's economy as he made an urgent call for the country to strengthen its economic resilience.
“In the face of the continued illegal and unwarranted economic sanctions against our country and other global shocks, it is imperative that we build and strengthen our country’s economic resilience. I, therefore urge the woman’s league to create capacities for increased production and productivity of our ‘Made in Zimbabwe’ goods and services.
“Scale up your resolve as Women’s League and women in general, to be bold creators and builders of communities and the Zimbabwe we all want,” said President Mnangagwa.
The President also congratulated and welcomed newly elected leaders of the Women’s League National Executive. He encouraged them to maintain traditions of unflinching loyalty and reliability, dependability, unity and consistency whilst keeping in mind the principles of ‘Servant Leadership’.
“By the same token, I congratulate and welcome the newly elected leaders of the Women’s League National Executive as presented before us. All of you have the weighty task to lead this important Wing of our Party. Today, the baton is passed on and you must carry on the long held traditions of unflinching loyalty reliability, dependability, unity and consistency, which your predecessors and the Women’s League are known for.
“Guided by our Party principles of ‘Servant Leadership’, you are called upon, henceforth, to work harder, as one united team, to wholeheartedly serve the women of our great country,” said the President
President Mnangagwa, further implored all party members to continuously expose falsehoods by Social Media activists. He warned that, no form of violence should be afforded space in Zimbabwe. Women’s League members were advised to shun rogue opposition political parties’ violence and illegal economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by some countries in the West
“As you go back, also continue to expose the lies and falsehoods of social media activists. Violence of any kind; be it gender based violence, or that of the illegal economic sanctions or caused by the rogue opposition political parties, has no place in our society and must be rejected,” said President Mnangagwa
The President concluded by paying a special tribute to all outgoing members of the National Executive of the Women’s League for having faithfully and loyally served in the strategic Wing of the ZANU PF party.
